How to get longer eyelashes

Longer Eyelashes

You want to go for that Bambi look – Big eyes and long lashes, but your lashes look short and just will not grow? Then you might be interested in Kelly’s following tips and tricks to longer looking eyelashes:

1. Care for your lashes

This is the first and most important step towards long beautiful lashes. For those of you who do not already now it: Lashes break if you go to bed without removing your mascara. They rub against your pillow when you sleep. It is the best for them, if they are soft. Rubbing in some sesame oil or Nivea cream before you go to sleep will make them softer and prevent them from breaking.

2. Do not overcake your eyelashes, but do use an eyelash primer

If you do they will not only look like spider legs, which is definitely not a look you want to go for, but they also will dry out. But there’s a difference between overlayering and layering. You can use a two phase mascara and it will make your lashes look longer. They even are not that expensive. The L’Oréal Double Extension Mascara or the Maybelline Long extreme double stretch mascara are a good bargain and they work as perfectly fine as their more expensive counterparts. The white mascara primer is applied first on your lashes. Believe me the primer will indeed make your lashes appear longer.

3. Curl your lashes

You can have really long lashes and not be aware of it. As for my lashes, they are really long but very straight. They look short, if I do not curl them. So a really good investment will be an eyelash curler. Use them softly and don’t tear on your lashes. Otherwise the curler is ripping out the lashes and creating a lot of damage.

4. Do not dye your lashes

Seriously you might find dying very convenient, but the chemicals in the dyestuff will most probably thin your lashes out. Thin as they are they will also look shorter.

5. Visit your doctor

If your lashes refuse grow or if they are falling out, I would recommend a trip to the doctor to rule out the possibility of an endocrin disorder. Your lashes could also fall out as a result of an infection. You maybe suffer from a so called Madarosis.
